There has long been talk of launching a successor to the Nokia 9 PureView. This equipment was initially planned for the last quarter of 2019, but to date there is still no sign of it.

According to the latest information, we will not see this mythical equipment any time soon on the market. The launch of the alleged Nokia 9.3 PureView will have been pushed into the second half of the year.

The NokiaPowerUser publication advances with the information, which has proved to be correct several times. Its sources say that this postponement is related to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nokia 9 PureView

A Nokia 9.3 PureView just for the end of the year, going well

The Finnish’s second top of the range has been the victim of constant delays and today’s news is just one more. This succession of events makes this model increasingly seen as a remote possibility.

It seems that the current pandemic has had a major impact on the supply chain of this smartphone. This means that HMD is having trouble purchasing parts for Nokia 9.3 PureView.

Nokia has not been very happy in the top segment

HMD wanted to revive a mythical telecommunications brand and did it very well with its mid-range. Although far from the numbers of yesteryear, it was not long before Nokia re-entered the 10 brands that sell the most equipment worldwide.

But when we look at the segment premium, things are quite different. Its only flagship, the Nokia 9 PureView, did not have the success expected in the market.

Its outdated processor and a camera with underperforming performance were decisive for this outcome. At least it is said that Nokia 9.3 PureView will come with the Snapdragon 865, which will be good news if the smartphone is unveiled later this year.

A year later, we still don’t see a successor to the Nokia 9 PureView and the outlook is not the best. We will see if this is where the Finnish is reborn in the high-end segment.
