Motorola shows technology to charge the phone 1 meter away (wireless)

As 4gnews reported this Friday, Xiaomi was the first manufacturer to present a technology capable of charging your phone over the air: Mi Air Charge. Minutes later, Motorola introduced something similar.

This technology was introduced directly by Chen Jin, director general of Lenovo in China, on the social network Weibo. The truth is that no great details were presented, but in this case we have a video in real use, where the technology is demonstrated.

As you can see in the video shared by the executive, this Motorola technology is able to charge your smartphone up to one meter away without using any cable or charging station. And it comes with the possibility to charge multiple devices at the same time.

Motorola’s charging transmitter is quite small for its capacity, and appears perched on the table a meter from both smartphones. It is further demonstrated that remote charging can be paused if blocked with one hand.

Unlike Xiaomi, it remains to be seen whether the Lenovo subsidiary is prepared to market this technology. It is to be expected that it can be premiered on the brand’s high-end smartphoens, the Motorola Edge.

Unlike the Mi Air Charge that charges at 5W, Motorola has not revealed the charging speeds of its technology. The Xiaomi device also manages to avoid obstacles, and it remains to be seen whether the Motorola solution can do it too.

Many questions that we hope to see answered in the near future, and in a truly formal presentation. For now, we have the video that makes any technological enthusiast “mouth watering”.
