Motorola, an American manufacturer owned by Chinese Lenovo, becomes the first brand to use Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 870 processor. The new SoC will debut on the Motorola smartphone Moto Edge S next day January 26 2021.

The Motorola Moto Edge S will bring the Snapdragon 870
It will, therefore, be Motorola’s first launch, with the first processor introduced by Qualcomm in 2021. Apparently – based on teasers and information leaks to date, we are dealing with a high-end device.
It can be said that the new Snapdragon 870 is the SoC with the highest processing frequency to date. It has a core dedicated to the heaviest tasks whose processing frequency can reach 3.2 GHz, being based on the 7 nm lithography.
It also has three other Cortex-A77 cores for normal tasks, as well as four other Cortex A-55 cores, more efficient in energy management and dedicated to the mundane tasks of the smartphone.
What to expect from the Motorola Moto Edge S
Along with the elegant lines, performance will be the main highlight. Note that Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 870 is a high-end “almost” range at 7 nm. It will be an excellent smartphone for gaming and for more intensive use.
The next Motorola smartphone can stand out for its 6.7-inch diagonal screen with Full-HD + resolution with a high refresh rate at 105 Hz. So far we are not sure about the type of panel used, probably an OLED display.
The rear of the Moto Edge S will sport a triple camera system, led by the 64 MP sensor. To power the mobile device, we have a 5,000 mAh battery with a fast charge Turbo Charge, as well as slightly curved margins.
Glass and metal will be the main building materials and, finally, the operating system used will be Android 11, with few changes and implementations by Motorola.
