Microsoft will launch Word, Excel and Powerpoint in just one app.

Microsoft will unify your most popular document editing and productivity programs into one Android application. The app does not have an official name yet but is already being tested in a beta program, likely to be released by the end of the year.

Through this app, it will be possible to create, edit and work on documents of the 3 platforms together with other users. All files can be stored in the cloud, in this case on Microsoft OneDrive or on the device.

One of the most useful functions will certainly be the creation of PDF files through photos or Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents. In addition, being a mobile version, it will be possible to sign PDF documents with the touch screen for authentication.

The app will also have integration with Office Lens so that the user can read documents or QR codes. Essentially, this app will unify all "office" work needs in one place, instead of having separate apps for each role.

Microsoft is betting on the Android ecosystem

If you can't beat them, join them, the saying goes. Microsoft well tried to create rivals for Android with Windows Phone and other products. However, at the mobile level, nobody can take the supremacy over Android, which reigns as the most widely used mobile operating system.

This effort to unify your services is yet another attempt to promote your products within the Android platform. Microsoft Surface Duo, a dual-screen phone / tablet with a slightly changed version of Android, was recently announced. This turned out to be the product originally advertised as Surface Phone.
