Following this wave, Microsoft has revealed that native Windows 10 icons will also be reviewed in the future. According to Jon Friedman, now that the company has found a new design standard, it's time to implement it in all of its services.
Remodeling Office icons was just the beginning of something new for Microsoft products. What we have seen unveiled for this productivity suite is just the beginning of a design upgrade across all technology platforms.
Therefore, the image you can see at the top is just a concept of what Windows 10 might be in the future. An image that was developed by Microsoft itself and shows us new icons for native applications like Mail, Calendar, Photos, News and more.
As with Office, Windows 10 also has some decades-old icons. Thus, it makes perfect sense that this operating system is also entitled to a refresh of its image. Now we can only wait to know when this will be implemented.
