Do you have the Mobdro pirate application? Then it's time to erase it. At least until there is evidence that application malware has been eliminated. Pirate applications have it. First installs via APK, which is not reviewed by Google and then the probability of having malware is much higher.
According to a new study from the company "Dark Wolfe Consulting" the Mobdro application has considerable malware and should be deleted already. The application has been studied in detail and the evidence of malware is considerable. Especially if you have a smartphone with root or jailbreak.
Malware detected in Mobdro pirate application does:
- Malware within the application forwarded the searcher's Wi-Fi network name and password to a server that appeared to be in Indonesia.
- The malware detected the researchers' network, looking for vulnerabilities that would allow access to files and other devices. The malware carried 1.5 terabytes of data from the researcher's device without permission.
- Mobdro has sought access to media content and other legitimate applications on the searcher's network.
Practically speaking, the app accesses your Wi-Fi network and begins to detect other devices connected to that network. If the user has root or jailbreak on your smartphone, you'll even be able to send commands to a SmartTV or phone that will make them capture video or audio.
This is a serious problem. In addition to getting hack your network, you may have access to private data on that network. Whether this data is on your smartphone or other programs / equipment connected to the same Wi-Fi hotspot.
This is the biggest problem with Pirate Apps.
There is no solution to solve the situation. That is, we do not advise at all to keep the application installed on your smartphone. If you have it, delete it immediately. Mainly if on the same application smartphone accounts with bank applications or private data. Still, remember that your Wi-Fi network is compromised. Immediately change your internet password as soon as you delete the application.
