LG is preparing to remodel its line of top smartphones. We still don’t know exactly what is in the South Korean’s plans, but we already know when everything should be clarified.

Rumors from South Korea say that LG will introduce a new premium device on May 15. This can be seen with the successor of the LG G8, however, it should have a very different designation.

LG gave up its “G” and “V” lines

Everything indicates that LG has given up on its popular lines of high-end smartphones. This means that the “G” and “V” lines will be discontinued by the South Korean company

LG G8 ThinQ

The one that was expected to be the LG G9 should not be introduced. Instead, the technology will have chosen to develop equipment with a new philosophy and should be the star of the LG event next month.

So far, we don’t have much information that can point us in the direction that LG will follow. The little that is known about this new equipment is that it should have features that will make it stand out in the market.

LG may opt for a less powerful processor

Even before the news that LG gave up on the LG G9, it was said that this equipment could have the Snapdragon 765G processor. This goes against the usual bet on Qualcomm’s 8xx line processors.

The reason for this option may be purely economic. The new Snapdragon 865 is much more expensive than its predecessor and the South Korean sees no advantage in betting on this SoC.

By choosing the Snapdragon 765G, you will be offering similar performance and the same 5G connectivity, but at a much more affordable price. All so that you are not forced to raise the final price of this mysterious smartphone even further.

It should be noted that this event has not yet been confirmed by LG. Believing it may be true, we still have a few weeks to go and we will have time to find out more about the future of technology.
