It was a few weeks ago that we reported that the Huawei P9 would not receive the Android Oreo update. A bit strange because the terminal was inserted into the Beta program.
The information came to us through a EBox reader who received the news through Huawei's official assistance. We refer the situation to Huawei UK and request confirmation of the same information. Huawei UK reported as positive. The Huawei P9 would not receive Android Oreo.

However, new information indicates that the terminal is about to receive the system update with the latest EMUI 8.
The excuse given to our reader was that the Huawei P9 would not be able to give a fluid experience and decent autonomy, so they decided to leave out Android Oreo.
Huawei P9 may even receive Android Oreo!
Apparently things have changed. If this information is correct, not only will Huawei P9 receive EMUI 8 with Android Oreo but Honor Play 6X, Honor 8, Honor V8, Mate 9 and P9 Plus are about to receive the update.
I believe this story will not end here. Let us, of course, contact the UK’s representatives again and try once again to clarify the situation.
The "P9" is a high end with little time and has more than specifications to receive Android Oreo. True, EMUI may not help, however, there is no shortage of mid-range branded terminals with the update and features well below the 2016 high end.
Soon we will have more information about the situation and will be able to clarify the audience that follows us. It is a pity that such updates to a gadget of this caliber are not taken for granted.
