Huawei P50 will have the largest photo sensor ever developed for smartphones

Despite rumors that the launch of the Huawei P50s has been delayed, the flow of leaks about them does not stop. The latest focuses on your camera and, unsurprisingly, will be a new milestone in this segment.

According to what is advanced in the social network Twitter, the Huawei P50 will be entitled to the new IMX800 sensor from Sony. What will set you apart from the rest is your absurd physical dimension.

Huawei P50 will have a sensor with 1 “inch dimension

The photographic sensors present in smartphones are smaller than those we see in conventional cameras. The reason for this is obvious, being dependent on the physical space they will occupy in the equipment.

However, the desire to significantly improve the quality of captured images has motivated brands to opt for larger sensors. This trend will take a huge step with the launch of the new Sony IMX800 sensor.

The presentation of this sensor is expected in April and will stand out for its dimension of 1 “inch. It will therefore be the largest sensor ever developed for a smartphone and the privilege of its debut will be attributed to Huawei.

We still don’t know technical details about the Sony IMX800, but it is expected to bring major improvements in the quality of the captured images. And as Huawei is an example to be followed in this department, it makes perfect sense to take advantage of the new Japanese sensor.

Huawei P40 Pro

This further corroborates the rumors to account for the postponement of the presentation of the Huawei P50. Since the new sensor from Sony will only be unveiled in April, it is impossible that the new flagship of the Chinese could arrive before that.

The cameras of all members of the Huawei P50 line are confirmed

The publication that brings us the aforementioned information clarifies the configuration of the remaining cameras of the P50 family. Therefore, we will have a model with main lens, wide angle and telephoto, a configuration that should be assigned to the Huawei P50.

The respective Pro model should replace the telephoto lens with a periscopic lens, while the P50 Pro Plus will add a wide angle, telephoto, periscopic lens and a ToF to the primary lens. In other words, it will again be the most powerful in this range of tops.

We still don’t know when the Huawei P50 will be officially unveiled. Nevertheless, the end of April or May is pointed out as a calendar for that moment.
