Huawei P20: Don't you like the monocle? There is a way to "disable" it

Huawei P20: Don't you like the monocle? There is a way for The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro were officially unveiled yesterday in Paris. The Chinese company event was one of those not easy to see until the end. CEO Richard Yu even has a positive enthusiasm, but the flaw in English makes the presentation boring and unattractive.

After months of rumors and leaks, Huawei officially unveils its new P20. Smartphones are interesting in many ways I have to admit.

In our hands-on (you can see in the video below) we can see that the build quality is there, the design is sleek and, according to DxOMark, it's the best camera on a smartphone you can have.

But there is one aspect that still leaves some users behind their feet! I am obviously talking about the "single mirror" or "notch". That top screen cut that arrived with Essential Phone and became a trend with iPhone X.

Huawei P20's Monorail is anything but charming!

While the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro offer a considerably lower bottom margin – when compared to the iPhone X – they also show us that slick cut at the top.

Many users will be happy to hear that there are ways to "disable" notch. You can't just take it off, of course, but in the definitions you can find a category about it.

When you deactivate the single mirror the top is black, something identical to the Samsung Galaxy S9. The bar will appear throughout the user interface, meaning it's not just a wallpaper that hides the cuts. However, not everything is a bed of roses.

If you have the Huawei P20 Pro you might well be well aware that the screen is AMOLED. That is, blacks are dense and few differences you will notice from screen to notch. With the P20 and its LCD screen I don't think it will look so good.

With state-of-the-art specifications, the new Huawei P20 wants to stand up to the market sharks. One thing is certain, first impressions convince.
