Huawei has registered the names'Cine lens' and 'Matrix Camera'at the Intellectual Property Institute of the European Union. Documentation describes the record as "cinematic photography, lenses for recording, reproducing and processing sound, image and data".
This information suggests that Huawei's next phone will have a movie lens, betting heavily on video. In this case it will be the upcoming Mate 30 Pro, expected to arrive in the last quarter of 2019.
The 'Matrix Camera', on the other hand, seems to refer to the square position of the mobile phone sensors. This setting was first placed on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
Partnering with Leica can result once again
Huawei's partnership with Leica has brought about the best mobile phones launched by the brand. Starting with the Huawei P9, the range gained a new life with the P20 in 2018 and now the P30.
So we can expect the Mate 30 Pro to be loaded with news, probably on video. The heel of those Huawei mobile phones has always been the video, evident in the optical stabilization of the P20.
Although improved on the P30, there is still room to perfect. Is Huawei Mate 30 Pro the ultimate video phone? It would certainly be interesting considering that the other brands put more emphasis on photography.
Notch or 'hole' on the screen?
There have been some images suggesting a 4 square rear camera configuration. In addition, the images show a hole in the screen with the dual Galaxy S10 + style front sensor.
However, a few days ago a photograph of the supposed screen saver of the Mate 30 Pro came up. It shows us a traditional notch, just like its predecessor. The phone is expected to still have a very sharp curved screen.
