What’s New in EMUI 10.1

Huawei warned that EMUI 11 will not come out anytime soon, not least because Android 11 is yet to be released. Thus, the most important news of EMUI 10.1 is the inclusion of the voice assistant Celia, a new app for video calls and more personalization themes.

EMUI 10.1 will further reinforce the bet on Huawei Mobile Services, the set of initial apps that the company will include in its mobile phones. This measure will come in response to the lack of Google services and in a way to the monopoly that Google and Apple maintain in the app stores.

The AppGallery is Huawei’s bet as an alternative. However, only time will tell whether Huawei’s plan will bear fruit.
