It is true and known that all technology manufacturers, especially mobile phones, are suffering due to the consequences of the Coronavirus. However, according to The Information, Huawei has another problem at hand: the banishment from the United States and the plight of Google.
The Information advances that Huawei did not suffer much from sales in 2019, as they still had models with guaranteed Google services. The brand took advantage of its famous P Smart range and even the recently launched Huawei Nova 5T to fill gaps in the UK’s market, for example.

However, in 2020, Huawei has no choice but to launch equipment without Google services. Despite the big bet on HMS (Huawei Mobile Services) and AppGallery, industry experts believe that this change will have a negative impact on the company’s sales.
In fact, according to analysts, Huawei is expected to sell a total of 190 to 200 million devices in 2020. It is an impressive number, but smaller, compared to the 240 million units that the brand managed to sell in 2019.
An annual sales decline would be a first for Huawei
Having been in constant growth since the presentation of the Huawei P8 Lite in 2015, the Chinese giant has never suffered a bad year. If negative forecasts come to fruition, 2020 would be the first year in which Huawei has not achieved annual growth (YoY = year to year).
It remains to be seen whether the bet on their own services will bear fruit in the Western market. The eastern market is guaranteed because the brand already has a firm presence in Asia. However, international markets offer an extreme challenge for the brand. After all, which Android user is not used to having Google services pre-installed?
