Huawei already has a new date to present its next foldable

At a time when the Mobile World Congress has already been canceled by the GSMA, the various brands that had their presence announced in Barcelona are beginning to reveal new dates to present their new products.

The first to take a stand is Huawei, which has officially confirmed that it will hold a virtual press conference in Barcelona on February, 24 at 3 pm local time (2 pm in UK).

Huawei Mate X
The Huawei Mate X was introduced in February 2019

The term “virtual press conference” appears as a preventive measure in relation to the coronavirus. A pre-recorded presentation will be shown in Barcelona, preceded by a demonstration of the products on site.

According to the Gizmochina website, this is the event chosen by Huawei to officially present its new foldable smartphone. It should be noted that this will be a new model, and not a renewed version of Mate X presented last year.

Mate XS is the likely name of the new folding from Huawei

The name is not yet official, but it is speculated that the new foldable from Huawei may be called Mate XS. It is hoped that the Chinese company may have made changes to make this version more compact and durable.

It is good to remember that Huawei had previously scheduled the press conference for the 23rd. Given the threat of the coronavirus, MWC was canceled, and the plans of brands like Huawei were reformed. The subsidiary (Honor) also scheduled a press conference for the same day.
