Huami has worked numerous times with Xiaomi. The companies are partners in the wearables segment, as it is Huami that owns the Amazfit line that we recognize as being from Xiaomi.
Not surprisingly, Huang Wang, CEO of Huami, said recently that he does not see Xiaomi as a competitor. Instead, he said his company competes with companies like Huawei.
Remember that Mi Band, Xiaomi's most successful wearable, is a product developed in partnership with Huami. It is therefore normal that you do not see Xiaomi as an opponent.
According to Huang Wang, his company's view of the wearables market is quite unique. For Huami this is a segment with tremendous growth potential.
For the CEO of Huami, it is therefore normal that companies like Huawei are already diversifying their options in this segment. The goal of each company is to provide the best specifications for the lowest possible energy consumption.
Huami is aware that Huawei can reach it in terms of market share, and is therefore alert in conjunction with Xiaomi. And surely the Mi Band 5 will play a major role in maintaining this successful relationship.
