Installing apps using Xcode for app installations, sideloading apps, diagnostics, and other stuff.

Since Apple has dropped USB-C port in the Apple TV 4K, meaning the only way to connect your Apple TV now with your Mac and Xcode is to do it wirelessly. Fortunately, Apple has introduced such a functionality with Xcode 9 and later. This method will work with Apple TV 4 too in case you don’t want to carry around USB-C cables and sideload apps. Here’s how to go about setting it all up.

Step 1. First things, download the latest version of Xcode from Mac App Store and then install it. Xcode is available from Apple on Mac App Store for free. It is important to note that Xcode 9 or later is required on macOS 10.12.4 also you will need to have the Apple TV running on the latest version of tvOS 11 or later.

Step 2. On Apple TV, navigate to Settings > Remotes and Devices > Remote App and Devices and keep your Apple TV on this screen to sync with Xcode running on your MAC.

Step 3. On Mac, launch Xcode and then navigate to Window > Devices and Simulators from the menu bar on top.

Step 4. Now if both your Mac and Apple TV are nearby, following message should show up on Xcode’s Devices and Simulators window. Or it will directly show your Apple TV 4K or Apple TV 4.  On left side window of Xcode if your Apple TV is synced already it is ready to start sideloading apps. Click on “Pair with [Your Apple TV]” button.

Step 5.  Now you will be able to see your Apple TV 4K connected device list. Copy your UDID and share with EntertainmentBox if you have purchased Full 1 Year singing service from us.

Step 6. Now you can click on the + icon and select the app you want to install. Click open then it will be installed in seconds.
