Niantic has just released an update for the Harry Potter: Wizards Unite game that adds support for syncing with the Google Fit app. With this new feature, Niantic launched Adventure Sync, a fitness feature.
Adventure Sync was created to interact with users’ fitness goals, so that the experience is not just a game. Therefore, the game will synchronize the steps and the distance covered with the Google Fit account, allowing you to consult the records later in the health application.
Sync will work even when the game is closed
In Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, the player is rewarded for the more steps he takes, which are recorded in the so-called Portkey Portmanteau. However, with Google Fit sync, steps that are taken even with the game closed are recorded and can be carried over to the game.
Therefore, even if the user does not open the game, he can make progress simply by taking steps during his daily routine. The mobile phone still has to be in the user’s possession, but it is still a feature that brings rewards.
Harry Potter: Wizards Unite already has more than 100 thousand transfers
According to research firm Sensor Tower, since December 2019, Wizards Unite has reached the 100,000 download mark, distributed between the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
In addition, the game has already raised $ 400 million in in-app purchases, resulting in a good number of revenue for Niantic. Although not as popular as Pokémon Go, Wizards Unite proved to be a good bet.
