Harman Kardon Citation 200, music wherever you want
The well-finished speakers designed to be transported wherever we want is the order of the day. Virtually every self-respecting manufacturer has one or two such proposals and Harman Kardon, which already has experience in the field, also wants to have its new equipment in this 2020.
The Citation 200 has been presented at this particular IFA 2020 (in which everything is being more online than ever), once again showing that design and good performance do not have to be at odds, although for this, of course, you have to pay a fee. considerable amount.
But before talking about its price, let’s look at the design. We could say that the Citation 200 is as if Bang & Olufsen and Bose have teamed up to do this project together. And it is that the appearance of the equipment inevitably reminds the Beolit 17, for the colors and the handle, and at the same time the SoundLink Revolve + for the rounded shape of its body.
We thus have a team of curve lines (much more than the Citation 100) and with a wide handle for transport (and that also serves as a decorative element). It is dressed in a woolen fabric from the Kvadrat firm, with a special treatment that repels dirt, in addition to having protection IPX4 against splashing water (interesting to use in certain areas where it may be more “in danger”).
Inside we find within this equipment a 1-inch high frequency and a 5 ”dynamic midrange speaker, as well as two passive subwoofers. You can use both its WiFi and Bluetooth connection to play music in streaming, being compatible with AirPlay and Chromecast as well as with the Google smart assistant.
The autonomy of this Harman Kardon speaker is eight hours of continuous playback, thanks to a battery that you can charge through its own base that accompanies the speaker or via USB-C cable -when you take it to another place and do not want to carry accessories.
Price and availability
The new Harman Kardon Citation 200 is available at two tone that you will be seeing in the images in this article: Winter Gray (light gray with brown handle) and Classic Black (black with also dark handle).
The exact date of availability has not been revealed, but we do know that it will be available soon in the official store of the brand (and we imagine that in other official distributors) with a price important to keep in mind.
And it is that the equipment is not exactly cheap, hanging a label of 349.99 euros, more expensive than the Bose gear we discussed earlier but notably lower than Bang & Olufsen – nothing to take us by surprise.
