Google’s gaming service has as one of its main goals to work on as many devices as possible. So far only available on Pixel smartphones, it will have already begun testing on other Android devices.
To date, non-Pixel smartphone users who connect to Stadia on their smartphone have been presented with the message “Choose where to play” and can do so on a Chromecast Ultra or a PC.
That message has begun to be replaced by the screens below (courtesy of 9to5Google), which proves that Google is really working to get Stadia working on more devices.
This trial only works during that session, and users have no control over when this screen appears. Apparently, Google’s test is random to see how Stadia works on a variety of non-Pixel devices.
Remember that Google said in November that it wanted Stadia to work on any screen. With these tests taking place, we can see the service being available on the most qualified smartphones for this very soon.
The Google Stadia service is not yet available in UK. However, EBox readers have not shown much interest in subscribing to the service if it becomes available in our country. 53% of respondents in our questionnaire said they would not subscribe if the service was already available here.
