Google continues to 'aim' at the TikTok video sharing application, especially after its boom in popularity. TikTok already has over 500 million users globally and is present in over 150 countries, all during the last 12 months.
So it's no wonder that Google also wants to achieve some of this success, as TikTok has already proved beyond doubt that there are many users interested in this type of application. Now the company is preparing a millionaire investment (almost 100 million euros) to achieve your goals.
Google wants to acquire an American startup to rival TikTok
Firework is a new video sharing App, very similar to TikTok. However, the application created by the North American startup has integrated a technology that makes it unique. "Reveal" technology enables creators to record videos from multiple perspectives (vertical and horizontal), where users need to adjust their smartphone orientation to see all content.
Currently, Firework has only just been launched in the Indian market, but has already managed to accumulate over 3 million registered users.
According to information published by the Wall Street Journal, Google is currently negotiating a possible acquisition of Firework, which is valued at more than 90 million euros. Interestingly, this startup has already received investment from the imposing IDG Ventures, which has already made major investments in Xiaomi, Tencent, Flipkart and also Baidu.
So far, it is not yet possible to confirm whether Google will proceed with the purchase of Firework, or whether it will partner with both companies to work together. One thing seems to be guaranteed, Firework will come to be an integral part of Google's ecosystem. Therefore, it will possibly adopt the name "Google Firework".
This is yet another very ambitious project from Google, which has had numerous failed attempts in the social networking world. Let's see how it will look this time, but it won't be easy to compete with TikTok.
