The new Google Play Store update is now available, and brings to all users the many new features that had been revealed last month.
The new look comes with the version 15.1.24 If you have not received it on your smartphone, you can upgrade now via APK.
How to install the new version of Play Store via APK
Installing apps via APK is very simple, and as long as you only do it for files downloaded from secure sources, it poses no risk to your smartphone. In this case, the APK file has been certified by Google and is housed in Drive to ensure it goes through another security review process.
First click on the Play Store logo below and wait a few seconds to start downloading. You may want to have Google Drive installed on your smartphone.
- Click on the Play Store logo
- Wait a few seconds to download the app (or you are directed to Drive and click download)
- Clicks on the "successful download" notification
- If this is your first time, give Drive permission to install APK's
- Click on the typical "next" and "install"
- Done, you already have the new version of Play Store
- PS: if you are using our App, download it below from the Browser
How to enable new look changes
To make sure you have access to the new look, you just need to take a few steps to clear the cache. This process is only necessary, because even with the new version, your smartphone still caches information that needs to be 'cleared'.
What are the visual highlights in this update
Once you open the app, it will be impossible not to notice changes made to your main page. Now you have a navigation bar at the bottom of the screen where you can access the 4 main sections of the Play Store: Games, Apps, Movies and Books.
In order to increase productivity when you are installing apps, you no longer need to open an App page to install it. While browsing the recommended apps or searching, simply long-clicking on the App will immediately see the "Install" option.
Application management also gets improvements
With the new update, you will also enjoy a revamped management section for your applications. The interface has been refined to make it easier and more convenient to access the most important features.
In short, all interface changes were implemented with two clear goals in mind, improving user productivity and simplifying content delivery.
This was possibly the largest update implemented on the Google Play Store during this transition process, where changes based on Material Design 2.0 lines were applied.
