For developers who create applications, the least expensive store is the Google Play Store due to its one-time payment of € 25, in addition to the whole range of support tools. In this sense, one of the vice-presidents of Google, Hiroshi Lockheimer published on Twitter informing that to date, programmers have already won more than 80 billion dollars.
Lockheimer made this publication through CEO Sundar Pichai, who revealed the big numbers. These figures come from ad revenue and in-app purchases. It goes without saying that Lockheimer thanked the developers for the success of the Google Play Store ecosystem. However, the figures pale compared to Apple.
Apple has already paid more than 100 billion dollars
In 2018, during the WWDC event, Apple revealed that developers at the App Store had already collected more than $ 100 billion in revenue. This number also represented a growth compared to 2017, where programmer revenues reached $ 70 billion.
Therefore, we can conclude that although it is easier to program for the Google Play Store, it is more profitable to create applications for the Apple App Store. The profit margin is clearly higher than Google’s, although the Apple app store is more restricted in its criteria.
