Apparently, Google will finally present the Pixel 4a next Monday. After several postponements, it seems that everything is ready to officially meet the new technology intermediary.
But even before that presentation, we learned that the Google Pixel 5a is already being worked on. A conclusion drawn from a code change on the Android Open Source Project platform.
Google Pixel 5a will hit the market with Android 11
The piece of code discovered by 9to5 Google makes a retrospective of the Pixel line and the versions of Android with which they were launched. In addition, we can see which models will have Android 11.
This is where we see the first reference to the Google Pixel 5a. This means that Google is already developing its next mid-range and that it is due to launch in the middle of next year.
The same listing also confirms the Google Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5. This should be the line of smartphones from Google for this year, with the last two counting on Android 11 from the factory.
The Google Pixel 3a was unveiled in May last year, but its successor has been delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Although it is very early, it is possible that the American plans to return to this schedule in 2021, hence the Pixel 5a will be released with Android 11.
For now, there is not much more to say about the Google Pixel 5a. It is expected to be a mid-range device, with pure Android and a camera far superior to what we usually see in this market segment.
