The launch of the Google Pixel 4 is already there and is starting to talk about its intermediate version, the Pixel 4a. It is the fault of the well-known @OnLeaks that toasts us with the first renders of this equipment.
This is not the first time @OnLeaks has left its predictions for equipment design that has not yet been revealed. Their history of assertiveness obliges us to look at these images with due credit.
Pixel 4a could arrive with a more up-front design
The big difference seen in these images for high end models is their screen. This Google Pixel 4a comes with a slim edge screen and a "hole in the screen" for your front camera.
This indicates that the most economical model will abandon the face recognition present in Pixel 4. This technology requires a series of sensors to function properly and these, in turn, require space.
This maneuver is also synonymous with the return of the fingerprint sensor to Google smartphones. This component is on the back of the device, as is the case with Pixel 3a.
Square camera module is here to stay
Something that won't change with Pixel 4 will be your rear camera module. Even with just one lens included, Google may still have a square module.
Whether you like it or not, it looks like 2020 will be the year of square modules. Every time we see renders of new smartphones, there is this approach.
This is the Apple effect on the market. Since the iPhone 11 has come with this design, the other brands are moving in the same direction, regardless of user tastes.
Google Pixel 4a will reach mid-2020
No release date yet, the source indicates that Pixel 4a will be unveiled in the middle of next year. A timing that makes sense, as Pixel 3a was unveiled in May 2019.
