One of the greatest classics in movie history – the Wizard of Oz – celebrated this Sunday 80 years. Google declined to be on the sidelines of this celebration, and created an Easter Egg on Search to celebrate the date.
While searching for “Wizard of Oz” you will see the ruby shoes of the Dorothy character from the upper right corner of the screen. By clicking on the shoes, the journey to the past begins.
You will hear the mythical phrase “there’s no place like home”. Next, the screen turns around and the page looks black and white that takes you into the movie world.
This page in question is fully usable and searchable. However, if you do a new search you will return to the normal look of the search. Once you want to “go home” by your own foot, you must click on the tornado that replaces the shoes on the right side of the screen.

Easter Egg is available on all platforms
This tribute to the Wizard of Oz is available on all Search platforms. Whether you're on your computer or on your smartphone, you'll be able to access this curiosity. Unlike on your computer, on Android the search bar remains unchanged during Easter Egg.
This type of practice recurs on Google Search. Already in April was the launch of Avengers: Endgame. If you still search for Thanos you can now have access to an Easter Egg, where part of your Search results are "deleted".
