One of the problems plaguing the Android market has to do with its fragmentation. One of the disadvantages of an open source operating system is precisely this. There are many companies that adopt it and each one of them is responsible for updating their equipment. This is no longer under the direct purview of Google.
This fragmentation is felt not only at the operating system level, but also at the security update level. Two types of updates are important for all types of users and yet there are only a few brands that follow.

These two problems have been hampering the entry of Google's operating system into the business world. The US company has been struggling to reassure such customers for the security of their data.
In an attempt to change this paradigm, Google is now launching an Android equipment recommendation program for businesses. Thus, it is the technology itself that certifies a handful of equipment as reliable for this sector.
Google wants to increase Android's presence in the business market
The overriding goal is to make Android a trusted operating system for businesses. What's more, try to get closer to competitors such as iOS, macOS and Windows 10. All of them operating systems with greater presence in the business world than Android.
Obviously not just any Android device will be part of this certification program. In order to receive the green light from Google, some requirements will need to be met.
Among them we can highlight the presence of hardware capable of running Android version 7.0 or higher. Security updates for will need to be available within 90 days of Google's release. Note also that these devices cannot be locked to an operator. The full list of requirements can be found here.
That said, it is then important to report which equipment is already covered by this program. As you would expect Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are already on this list. We also have the BlackBerry KEYOne and Motion, Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro and the entire Huawei P10 line. What's more, we have the latest Sony Xperia X, LG V30 and LG G6 line, Motorola Moto X4 and Moto Z2 and finally Nokia 8.
For the future, Google promises to add more equipment to this list. These additions are expected to occur during the coming months.
