IOS users will now have access to one of the latest Google Maps features: Incognito Mode. This mode allows you to navigate Maps without the app storing location information in your personal Google account. The user is not "invisible".
Therefore, when using Maps in Anonymous, you do not receive recommendations based on locations such as shopping centers, restaurants, or other points of potential interest. The location history will not be updated either. The function already exists on Android this October, coming now to iOS.
Users in the United States who use Anonymous Mode will not be able to know about restaurant or car park wait times and their overtime alerts.
Google Maps will also allow you to delete locations
In addition to Anonymous Mode, Google has announced that it will also soon release a feature that allows users to delete locations from their history. This will allow you to choose locations from your history and permanently delete them, giving you more control over your history.
The function is called Bulk Delete and will be released to Android users in January. This is likely to be the first 2020 news update for Google services, or at least for Maps.
So if you're an iOS and Google Maps user, you can already have Incognito Mode. To enable it, open Google Maps and touch your profile icon in the upper right corner. Then simply choose the Anonymous Mode option to enable it. If you want to disable, the procedure is exactly the same.
