If you don’t know, tomorrow is World Emoji Day and Google is ready to celebrate that day. This new implementation on the Google Gboard keyboard is now available in beta, so it is very possible that they will start rolling out to all users tomorrow.

Obviously, to celebrate the day, the new functionality is directly related to the use of emojis on the keyboard. Very soon, you won’t need to open your list of emojis to send the ones you use the most. For this, they will add a new bar at the top of the keyboard, where there will be a bar with the most used emojis.

Emojis are an increasingly important element in text messages

While it may seem like a minor addition to many users, there is no doubt that emojis are increasingly important to many users. Currently, younger users increasingly use emojis to complete their messages, or even to compose increasingly complex messages.

Google is perfectly aware of this reality, so it is already preparing to add 117 new emojis this fall as the arrival of Android 11. With this new wave, the goal is to implement more and more “inclusiveness” options, such as example a man with a veil, a woman with a tuxedo, a person feeding a baby and much more.

In addition, some changes to existing emojis will also be introduced, such as being able to exemplify the anatomically correct heart and others who see their design go back to a previous version. Finally, we will also see some changes implemented so that its inclusion in a “dark theme” is much more positive.
