Google Assistant expected to have broader presence by 2018

Google Assistant
2018 will continue to be a year of expansion for Google Assistant

Today the Artificial Intelligence market is clearly dominated by Alexa and Google Assistant. These are the AIs that are most capable of meeting the needs of their users. Its main goal is to help you with your daily tasks. Perform them for you requiring only a voice command.

Present on Android smartphones and Google Home devices, Assistant wants to be by your side all day. Whether away from home or at home, this Artificial Intelligence will always be there to help you. All you need to say is "Hey Google" and she'll be ready to meet your needs.

However, for us UK’s, this scenario cannot yet be verified in our mother tongue. UK’s is not yet one of the languages supported by Assistant. Support is already available for Brazilian UK’s, but this requires some accent skill from you. This is obviously beyond English.

Despite the huge market this AI enjoys, Google has plans to make it even bigger. The Moutain View company has already laid plans for its Google Assistant to reach more countries and languages by 2018.

Presenting at the Digital News Initiative summit in Amsterdam, we can see the expansion plans for Assistant this year. The information comes to us through Elger van der Wel, who shared with the internet a slide of the presentation that took place at this summit.

Google Assistant will expand strongly in 2018

It can be seen that the Californian company wants to significantly expand its Artificial Intelligence over the course of this year. It will expand strongly across the African and Asian continents. There are some contemplated on the European continent, however, UK will not be one of them. including UK.

Should this scenario materialize, Google Assistant will see its support increased to 38 new countries and 17 new languages. These will represent a total of 52 countries and 25 languages officially supported by Google Assistant by the end of 2018.

Other data corroborating this scenario can be found on the website of the Dutch dealer Coolblue. This can already be found listing the various devices Google Home. These devices that are not currently officially sold in that country. This country is also contemplated in the slide referred to above.

We can only hope that one day Google will remember this noble Lusitanian country on the Atlantic coast. It is with great enthusiasm that we look forward to the day when our language is officially supported by one of the leading Artificial Intelligences on the market.
