Following Sekiro: Shadows Dies Twice receiving Game of the Year award, the Ghost of Tsushima trailer was released. This supposed PlayStation 4 exclusive has been shrouded in secrecy since the beginning of the year, now receiving the official video.
The trailer shows us a bit of history and gameplay. The game is set in Japan, where the protagonist, the last Samurai on Tsushima Island, must fight to stop the first Mongol invasion, which historically took place in the 1270s.
Ghost of Tsushima is undoubtedly an action game with stealth elements. Its gameplay recalls classic ninja / samurai games like Tenchu on PlayStation or even the Ninja Gaiden saga, spread across various platforms.
We're in an "age" of samurai in the video game world
In recent years we have seen games inspired by the Samurai culture achieving great success in the gaming community. In 2017 Nioh was released for PlayStation 4 and PC. The game immediately had positive reviews for its gameplay and impressive graphics.
This year we had the release of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, which exceeded expectations and won players around the world. From the same studio that brought Dark Souls, Sekiro puts us in a cruel world full of enemies where the strategy and timing of using the sword are central to survival.
Ghost of Tsushima is scheduled for release sometime in 2020 as a PlayStation 4 exclusive. However, it is possible that the game will eventually be released for PC (Windows 10), as was Nioh's.
