The Athletic recently launched a podcast entirely dedicated to the Football Manager game world. The 2021 version was officially launched this week, and the podcast’s first guest was Miles Jacobson, the title director for Sports Interactive.
Football agents have already tried to bribe the Football Manager director
on one podcast who tries to understand how the game works, Jacobson revealed that in the past he had agents trying to bribe the studio, so that his “pupils” could have their attributes (ratings) improved in the game.
“I had agents trying to bribe me to make things worse. And those who asked me for this know that they will not do it again ”, he says. As the FM is a true reference, the agents tried to make their agents into pearls more attractive to top clubs.

Players also ask to see the improved attributes in Football Manager
As you would expect, there are players who also ask to see the improved attributes. And without mentioning names, Jacobson says that he only once agreed to change a player’s attributes.
The athlete said he was unhappy with the speed and acceleration in the game, comparing himself with a theoretically slower teammate, who was faster in the game. Jacobson asked the player to film a race between them and send him the video.
Players ran, recorded the moment and Sports Interactive agreed to change those statistics. However, the player said that his dribbling was inferior to his colleague’s, asking for a change to make things more fair.
