Huawei started to distribute the latest version of its interface, EMUI 11, based on Google’s Android 11 operating system, fulfilling the forecasts released in mid-November. The update arrives via OTA (over the air).
This development was announced by several users through the platform Reddit where they posted the screenshots with the update notification. Soon after, the news was advanced by the blog Huawei Ailesi, from Turkey.
EMUI 11 started to reach Huawei smartphones
Looking at the screenshot, we see a summary of the news, the information about the size of the package to download – 1.11 GB, in addition to the compilation number. In complementary images also from Turkey the changelog is more detailed.
Anyway, with a simple translation exercise we see that the range of functions is similar to what had been disclosed by the test versions beta. The summary of the improvements can be found below, at the end of the article.
On the other hand, Huawei seems to have started preparatory work for the migration of the Android system to its Harmony OS, based on the absence of the traditional green logo of the Android operating system when starting the smartphone.
It is also worth noting that the “Powered by Android” buzzword remains when turning on the device, however, the signs of lesser dependence on Huawei in relation to the North American operating system are beginning to become noticeable.
