If you have an Android TV the news is good. According to the latest information from 9to5Google, the Android TV 10 update is expected to arrive officially later this year.
However, not everything is a bed of roses. Although Android TV is increasingly used as a device for stream or form of media center management, not many manufacturers are concerned with updating their small box software.
When will Android TV 10 arrive?
Scheduled for release in late 2019, Android TV Boxes are expected to begin upgrading as early as 2020. As I mentioned, it will all depend on what Android TV box you have and the brand that makes it.
TVs with Android TV (or Android TV OS), such as Sony, should receive the update shortly after it is available from Google. The same cannot be said of small boxes.
One of the brands that should upgrade your system is Xiaomi boxes. The Chinese company does not usually fail to update, either on smartphones or on Android TV.
However, brands with a lesser reputation and a bad update history should be another story. Once again, fragmentation remains a serious problem for the Android system.
How to tell if your Android TV box will update
You basically need to know the brand history. If you do not know, the most correct way is to go to the settings and understand which system is installed. If the update is Android TV 9 you might be in luck.
Note that an Android box does not always give us Android TV. Android TV is made by Google with the idea of giving us an enhanced television experience. Still there are boxes that give us only "Android" with a changed interface version for this type of gadget.
The most correct way to understand yours is only in the "definitions". Where there will be something described as "Android TV".
