The Pixel 4a is seen (in renders)
OnLeaks and 91Mobiles have published some renders of what could be Google’s next phone, the Pixel 4a. And it will not surprise with respect to what has already been seen in the upper model, but still it does have some interesting details.
With a aesthetic very similar to Pixel 4, with that “same encapsulation” in square format for the camera, the plastic seems to be the material used for the body again. Thanks to that it is possible to reduce the cost of production, and although it is not so premium as the use of glass is not a big problem seeing how the Pixel 3a was.
In terms of size, if everything matches the rumored, the Pixel 4a would also have dimensions very similar to the current Pixel 3a: 144.2 x 69.5 x 8.2mm. Although physically what most attracts attention according to the renders shown is the front and its screen.
The Pixel 4 had a somewhat “outdated” front compared to the rest of the proposals. The justification was the set of sensors for facial recognition, but still he felt back at the aesthetic level. In this Pixel 4a the use of the front part improves and the screen now would integrate a hole for the camera.
As a solution it can convince more or less, but it is true that the hole on the screen does not bother as much as it might seem a priori. Moreover, it is quickly “forgotten” and is quite convenient when it comes to enjoying a greater diagonal and a more notable reduction of frames. That way, the panel used in this Pixel 4a would be on the 5.7 or 5.8 inches.
For the rest, the next member of the Pixel family could arrive with a 3.5mm headphone jack. Although there are two elements that are located in the back and sure have caught your attention already: the camera and the fingerprint reader.
The Pixel 4a would not rely so much on facial recognition nor would it make use of an integrated fingerprint reader under the screen. Here we would have a conventional reader in the back, in a centered position that for many is ideal for ease of access and performance.
The other key element would be the camera. Although integrating a square-shaped encapsulation would only include a single chamber with a 12 MP resolution sensor. That would not be a problem to offer the popular and striking Google portrait mode and the occasional features such as night mode or super resolution. Of course, the latter would have to wait to see if it is confirmed or not.
In summary, although all this is still nothing more than rumors, knowing how the Pixel 4 is filtered, there are many possibilities that it ends up being as we began to see it. Now, when will the Pixel 4a be released? The Pixel 3a was presented on May 2019 during the Google I / O, so it is more than likely during the 2020 conference when we see his successor.
Therefore, there are still some months until the definitive arrival of Google’s cheap Pixel. With a MWC in between you will probably see many other attractive terminals, but if you are attracted to the Pixel, then you only have a little more patience to see if this Pixel 4a convinces you more than its superior model.
