Disney + is one of the most recent streaming services launched in UK, and has been available since September 15th with a monthly subscription of just 6.99 euros per month. Users who prefer an annual payment, will be able to enjoy 2 months free (total of 69.99 euros).
Now, the company has officially revealed that it has a gift reserved for its subscribers, confirming that the new Pixar film – Soul – will arrive exclusively for the service in December. Contrary to what happened with the Mulan film, it will be directly integrated into the service’s library, available to all users.
I remember that when the Mulan movie was released, users needed to pay an additional fee to subscribe to see the movie, which ended up causing a great deal of controversy among the millions of users.
Soul was scheduled to debut in June, but with the problems caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, it was postponed to November and finally to December.
Covid-19 pandemic heavily affects the film industry and gives big boost to streaming services
Since the pandemic broke out, the world of cinema, like many other markets, has been turned upside down. The studios were forced to suspend all recordings, leading to the postponement of numerous films and series, some of which were even canceled.
On the other hand, streaming services ended up benefiting considerably from this situation, since many studios were forced to enter into exclusive partnerships to launch their films / series and the number of subscribers rose to numbers never seen before in almost all of them .
