Demon’s Souls: one of the most anticipated games for PS5 will disappoint fans

When Sony revealed the PlayStation 5 release dates, it also reported the existence of a remake of Demon’s Souls for the console. And the fans’ reaction to this news couldn’t be better.

However, today it became known that not everything will go as fans would like. Gavin Moore, the game’s creative director, revealed that the PS5 remake of Demon’s Souls will not support ray tracing.

Demon’s Souls will arrive on PS5 without ray tracing

In an interview with Level Up, Moore reveals that this absence is a matter of resource management. He justifies it by stating that for ray tracing to be included in Demon’s Souls, something would have to be ruled out.

Demon’s Souls

It has always been the plan of the studio responsible for Demon’s Souls to focus on the development of scenarios and characters. He also reveals that all the influence of light and shadow in the game’s scenarios will be manipulated in real time.

This news will certainly leave fans disillusioned, but that does not mean that Demon’s Souls doesn’t present itself with enormous graphic quality. In fact, at least gameplay shown in the game announcement, we can see that it already has an above average quality.

What is ray tracing?

Ray tracing is a technology for rendering three-dimensional images. More specifically, it focuses on simulating the path that light rays would take in the real world.

In practical terms, ray tracing helps to produce more beautiful scenarios and closer to reality. Of course, this also requires greater computing power, but it should be noted that both PS5 and Xbox Series X will support this technology.

Demon’s Souls will be one of the PS5 launch titles

Demon’s Souls will be available to European players starting on November 19th. The same date that PlayStation 5 will start selling on our market.

So, if you are thinking about buying the new Sony console, you will certainly be happy to know that you can play Demon’s Souls from day one. However, without taking advantage of ray tracing technology in the game.
