PlayStation 5 arrived in Europe last week, being one of the most desired consoles ever. Due to the pandemic, having a unit on launch day was a real privilege. Unfortunately, that privilege was halted for some with the disappearance of the consoles before the act of delivery.
A video revealed by Richard Walker on social media shows Amazon’s courier responsible for delivering a PS5 to his home on launch day. And as you can see in the video, the driver stopped to make other deliveries, but put the PS5 back in the van.
The footage captured by Jenni Walker, Richard’s wife, had rapid effects with Amazon. The family got in touch with the company, but there seemed to be no practical solution.
The couple’s daughter would eventually go to the Amazon warehouses in her area, and confront them with the filming. Amazon immediately notified Oxford Mail of the employee’s dismissal.
PS5 was a birthday gift for the couple’s son
Speaking to Eurogamer, the father of the family said his son was celebrating his birthday on the day the console was launched in Europe, 19 November. This was ordered with the purpose of being his birthday gift, but it would end up stolen.
This is just one of the cases of PS5 theft that has just been proven. Thanks to the surveillance cameras, we understand how this type of practice can be processed. The Walker family will have to continue waiting for the new console.
