Mindhunter, a good bet built
The Mindhunter series is one of those projects that without making a lot of noise upon arrival, finally manages to win over a good and loyal audience. And is that the series directed by David Fincher has always boasted of a temple and own rhythm, in which everything is cooked over a very slow fire to tell us and teach us the origin of criminology in the US during the 70s.
A tremendously uncharismatic protagonist but whom you end up gaining appreciation for and two very different companions who know how to contribute and balance the same scale have made the series of Netflix a peculiar and interesting product, where the script lines catch and the interpretations of some serial killers have been very (very) commented.
The same and the care put into everything is a process, however it does not seem to have served to give continuity to the series. Its manager has just confessed that most likely we will not see a third season and we are always left wondering how things went for the intrepid Holden Ford.
Fincher did not beat around the bush in the interview with Vulture to promote his new (and curious) movie Mank. When asked about the Serie And if it had already come to an end – if you read the entire interview, you will see that the director always refers to it as something of the past – the director speaks very clearly:
Listen, for the audience it had, it was an expensive show. We speak of «finish Mank and then see how you feel, ‘but honestly, I don’t think we can do it for less than I did the second season. And on some level, you have to be realistic […]
As you can see, David Fincher does not consider the series 100% settled but given the cost so high that it has its realization and the audience it generates (it is not a Stranger things or a The witcher) see very unlikely that an agreement will be reached to continue with a third season.
We already know that Netflix is not at all sorry to conclude unfinished projects (generally, in addition, it usually cut to the chase after the two-season attempt) and the fact that the main actors of the series were released of his contracts after finishing season 2 was not exactly the best of signs. Together with Fincher’s statements, it seems that the thing is quite clear: we have to forget about the series, keep it in our memory and remember that one day they told us with great veracity how you were the origins of the unit of analysis of the conduct in the FBI and of the patterns of psychological profiles of criminals. .
