Apple teaches how to transfer photos from iCloud to Google Photos

  • Apple has provided a tool to copy the images stored in your Photos to Google Photos
  • The tool facilitates the transition from iPhone to Android
  • It is also useful for those who want to store everything on the Google Photos service

The Apple tool makes the transition to Google Photos easier

Apple iPhone iOS

North American technology has quietly introduced the new tool through a support document to assist its users in transferring their photos from iCloud to Google’s storage and backup service, Google Photos.

According to information published by the Cupertino giant, anyone interested can request the transfer of a copy of the Photos – stored on their iCloud service, where are the photos and videos associated with an Apple ID to another service.

The transition service provided by Apple is available to customers in the European Union, United Kingdom, among other countries, allowing the transfer of content. In practice, the migration process becomes simpler and more succinct.

It is ideal for those who want to switch from iPhone to Android

Apple Google Photos

For those who want to migrate from iPhone to Android the tool is particularly useful. This is because on an Android device we cannot use Apple Photos, or iCloud. In this way, Google Photos becomes the ideal, user-friendly platform.

It is worth noting that as of June 1, 2021, it no longer allows unlimited storage of photos and videos. The paid plan (€ 1.99) per month, gives us 100 GB of storage. There are, however, more alternatives that we have already made known.

It should be noted that the transfer does not occur immediately. Depending on the amount of photos and videos stored on iCloud, the process can take between 3 to 7 days.

How to copy iCloud photos to Google Photos

  • Access the Apple website – enter the privacy area
  • To do the Login with Apple account (Apple ID)
  • Select – Get a copy of your data
  • We’ll see a list with the number of photos and videos stored in iCloud Photos
  • Select the destination of the content – in this case, Google Photos
  • Finish the order and wait for the order to complete
  • Apple will send an order confirmation email

After the procedure, the contents should appear in the selected Google Photos account. It’s extremely simple and just a little patience depending on the size of the gallery on iCloud.
