The iPad Pro was, until recently, a tablet without parallel in its segment. But the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 +, which I had the opportunity to test, matched the parade and Apple will have to work even harder in an upcoming version.
iPad Pro with OLED will be on its way in 2021
Although Apple is at another level when it comes to processor, the current iPad Pro has an “only” LCD screen. And although it is of great quality and with 120Hz, the Cupertino company will even be planning a model with OLED panel for the second half of next year.
This information is advanced by the South Korean website TheElec, which confirms that Apple will also launch iPads with mini-LED technology during the first half of next year. OLED panels, on the other hand, will be saved for high-end models.
Apparently, these devices will have panels produced by Samsung and LG. And Samsung Display will have already renewed the production line in one of the factories in South Korea for the future iPad Pro.
Burn in is the most common defect in OLED panels. A kind of “ghost image” that is marked if static images are kept for a long time. And Apple wants to ensure that high quality standards are maintained to prevent this from happening.
Another detail that should arrive in the iPad Pro 2021 is the support for 5G. And it is plausible that a significant leap is also made in its processor, at a time when the A14 (of the iPad Air) is not far behind the A12Z of the latest iPad Pro.
