Apple has just released a patch to address a rather annoying bug in the App Store. Users could not download apps from the store, not even app updates already installed.
The bug occurred as soon as a Terms and Conditions popup appeared on the screen prior to installation. As much as users tapped 'Agree', the dialog kept popping up.
The problem was so widespread that many users went to Twitter to expose the situation. Sometimes posting to the social network is better than apparently contacting Apple support.
Apple's Twitter support account did little more than ask affected users to send a personal message in more detail.
A small problem in numbers but large in scale
This bug was apparently affecting a small percentage of iOS users worldwide. However, when it comes to the Apple operating system, a 'small number' remains quite large due to the iPhone user base.
The most funny thing is that it was initially thought that this bug was part of a non-complete beta of iOS. However, the bug also affected users of the latest released version, iOS 12.2.
During the bug, users could only get rid of the Terms and Conditions popup by tapping 'Cancel'. Only then could they continue to use their iPhone in the normal way.
If you have been affected, be aware of any updates that may arise. Apple doesn't usually waver or take too long when it comes to these solutions so it shouldn't be long before it's resolved.
