Apple has in its program (RED) a way to finance projects for the treatment of HIV / AIDS. In the past 14 years, this partnership with the Cupertino company will have resulted in almost $ 250 million in donations.
By June 30, 2021, through a partnership between Apple and (RED), 100% of eligible profits on (Product) RED purchases now revert to the COVID-19 Global Response Fund.
“This is decisive support for the health systems most threatened by the outbreak, which in turn will help maintain HIV / AIDS programs in sub-Saharan Africa,” says Apple on its home page.
Apple Pay purchases will also contribute, until December 7
In addition, Apple also announced a measure for those who buy with Apple Pay. “Until December 7, all purchases made with Apple Pay help to finance the program (RED) in the fight against AIDS and COVID-19”, they refer. However, this is a measure only for purchases on apple.com or the App Store and with a maximum donation of $ 1 million.
Which Apple Product RED can I buy?
The list is extensive, but you can have a product from this line by buying one of the new iPhone 12, iPhone 11, iPhone SE or iPhone XR. Through accessories such as MagSafe covers you also have products from this line available. The new Apple Watch Series 6 is also a red version, and there are several straps in that line for the product.
This is a way for Apple to promote its products in this line and, of course, to earn dividends on it. But even with the inherent marketing behind it, something is doing to help in this fight.
