Apple will move production of its new Mac Pro from the United States to China. The information is advanced by the Wall Street Journal, and not surprisingly, as most of its products are already made in China.
The Mac Pro was Apple's great all-in-house product, and goes against the company's initial plans. The initial idea was to make the new computer in the United States, but lower production costs speak louder.
According to Wall Street Journal sources, Apple will work closely with Quanta Computer Inc., in a factory near Shanghai. In this way the warehouse is closer to other suppliers and helps to lower production costs. In addition, production costs are also lower in China than in the United States.
Information not yet confirmed by Apple
This information has not yet been confirmed by Apple, which sees little importance in changing the final production of its product. Also because the company claims that in the United States alone supported more than 2 million jobs in 2018.
“Like all our products, the new Mac Pro is designed and developed in California and includes components from many countries, including the United States,” said Apple. However, this is only part of the manufacturing process. Quanta already works with Apple on their smart watches or Macbooks.
As for the Mac Pro itself, it was released last month by the apple company. This is a professional computer that starts at $ 6,000. Its exterior design has been anything but consensual, and has been compared several times to a “cheese grater”.
