The information is advanced by the DigiTimes website, and realizes that Apple may be preparing a cheaper version of the already launched AirPods Pro. According to this source, the headsets may be called “AirPods Pro Lite”.
This name makes little sense, as it combines the words Pro and Lite in the same sentence, so it should not be the final name chosen by Apple. Even so, the idea of the type of product that will be being prepared remains clear.
AirPods Pro Lite were mentioned in a report where Apple says it wants to increase production with its partners in Taiwan, compared to production affected by the coronavirus in China.
AirPods Pro cost € 279 in UK. AirPods (2nd generation) cost € 229
It is good to remember that AirPods Pro were launched in October of last year, and are currently the premium option for Apple headsets. With AirPods and AirPods Pro being separated by 50 euros, it remains to be seen where Apple will fit these possible future earbuds.
With this one proving to be a rumor with few details, my guess is that these may be the third generation of normal AirPods. With a more economical price, they could appeal to the segment of those who do not want to spend so much on wireless headsets.
You must bear in mind that this is just a rumor, and that it is not entirely certain that Apple will launch this version of the AirPods. The name is contradictory, but we will most likely be talking about a Lite version without the Pro in its final name.
