Apple has donated € 200 million to the institution (RED), Tim Cook revealed

Today is the international day of the fight against AIDS and Tim Cook, Apple CEO, decided to reveal through his Twitter account how much his company has already donated to the recognized organization (RED). According to information revealed by the CEO, Apple has donated € 200 million over the past 13 years.

An average of 15 million euros a year makes Apple the largest contributor in (RED) 's ongoing fight against AIDS. Cook also underlines the great progress made over the years, revealing that since 2004, the death toll from AIDS has fallen by more than 50%.

This #WorldAIDSDay we mark our 13th year partnering with @RED to fight AIDS in Africa. Since 2006, our customers have helped us raise $ 220M. AIDS-related deaths have fallen by more than half since 2004. Together we can achieve an AIDS-free generation.

Apple Brings New Ways to Raise Funds for (RED)

Over the past few years, it has become almost a tradition to see Apple launch a special edition of the iPhone to raise funds for (RED). These special editions arrive (obviously) with a bright red tone, characteristic of the association they support.

However, this year Tim Cook has decided to invest in a different approach. To support the cause, the Apple logo on thousands of stores has been illuminated in red. In addition, for each purchase / subscription made through Apple Pay, $ 1 will be donated to (RED).

Regardless of how they decide to fundraise for this institution, it is to be commended that they continue to do so actively. Only with the support of big companies like Apple can these organizations do the extremely important work they have on their mission.
