Google and Apple are in a war against Epic Games, due to the fact that Epic Games has finally “stepped foot” against the 30% fees charged in the Play Store and App Store. In the case of Apple, the apple company is taking extreme measures, as reported by Epic Games on Twitter.
According to the publication, Apple is ending all programming accounts on iOS and Mac. This means that Epic Games will be completely banned from programming applications for Apple platforms, and that includes Fortnite.
Fortnite had previously been removed from the App Store, but was still available to iOS users who already had the game installed. However, with this ban, it will be impossible to install Fortnite on iOS, removing the game completely from users’ hands.
However, Epic Games has requested an order that would prevent Apple from making such removals and bans. Something difficult to accomplish, since Apple owns the platform. This is yet another situation where Apple is rightly accused of anti-competition practices.
However, on a more caricature side, eBay and second-hand websites are packed with iPhones with Fortnite installed. If you are interested in buying one, get ready to spend up to 12 thousand euros.
