It was late last year that Google wanted to bring new life to low end equipment. For this was born the project Android Go, at the time based on Oreo. Now it's time to get to know your successor, Android Pie Go Edition.
Like the unveiled version at the end of 2017, it is also intended for low end equipment. Here we have an operating system optimized to work on smartphones with 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.

To this end, Google has worked hard to reduce the amount of features that the Go operating system and applications require from the smartphone. Everything that is unnecessary for the proper functioning of an application or operating system is set aside.
Now with the arrival of Android Pie, it's time to get to know Android Pie Go Edition. As the name suggests, this is the Go version of the latest iteration of Google's operating system.
Google officially introduces Android Pie Go Edition
This new version of the operating system is mainly based on space saving and smartphone security. Incidentally, Google mentions that Android Pie Go Edition occupies 500MB less than its predecessor.
For example, if you have a smartphone with 8GB of internal memory, this version will make you 5.5GB available for everything else. Something that in its predecessor would require such an additional 500MB, leaving only 5GB.
For comparison, with the normal version of Android Pie there would be only 2.5GB of available memory left. Here we have a savings of over 50% of smartphone resources, and each megabyte counts on equipment of this kind.
This new version will also provide lower operating system startup times than the previous ones. We also have improvements in operating system security, as well as a new control panel for monitoring data consumption.
Another cornerstone of this variant of Google's operating system will be its Go applications. They are constantly developing so they can provide the best possible user experience.
One of the new features coming with this new version is the Go Messages that now occupy half the space of the normal version. Google Assistant Go now supports new languages such as Spanish and Brazilian UK’s.
This version will be available to all manufacturers this fall. More information will be made available by Google in a timely manner.
