The latest trial version (Beta) of Android P is now available for the Sony Xperia XZ2 smartphone. Introduced in the latest edition of Mobile World Congress, the smartphone can now test the successor to Google's Android Oreo.
In practice this is the third test release, Developer Preview 3 for Android P but it is the second build to reach consumers. Thus we can say that it is the 2nd Beta version of Android P that is now available for the Sony Xperia XZ2.

So we realized why the "Developer Preview 2" version was called Android P Beta 1. This is because it was the first build to be available to consumers and interested in testing the news on compatible devices.
Now, as the XDA Developers portal tells us, the new build can be identified by the number PDP-PKQ1.180513.001-10128. In view of the previous build Sony has fixed a large number of bugs and non-functional options. List below.
Fixes for new beta of Android P
- Little difference between maximum and minimum volume during calls
- The microphone sometimes stopped working
- Wireless charging was not always recognized
- ExFAT formatted microSD memory cards were not recognized
- Night mode (night light) did not take action when the sunset and sunrise parameter was set.
- GPS location was not working correctly on some units
- 4G + connection was causing system errors
- Hotspot was causing system instability)
Still keep in mind that this is a trial version, a beta version, subject to instability. In other words, you will surely have some bugs in the trial version, something that is to be expected since it is not a full system version.
You can now try Android O on your Sony Xperia XZ2
At this time, some errors are known, such as poor image quality when compared to Android Oreo. In addition, the Bluetooth connection also has some errors and instability in maintaining the connection.
Anyway, you can visit the page from Android Beta to enroll your Sony Xperia XZ2. You will then receive the system update via OTA (over the air). On a final note, the final version of the system should be available in August.
