Android 10 is finally coming to OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T. Once we have the beta versions, it's time to start upgrading your device to the latest Android version.
Even though on many devices there is no update notification, you can always force it without major problems. I just did this to the same OnePlus 6T and had no problem. Still, it's worth pointing out that it's important that you have a recent backup of your information.
How to install Android 10 on your OnePlus 6 or OnePlus 6T
First it goes through the "settings" – "system" and "system update". Confirm that you have the latest version installed. Also confirm that you have Android 9 Pie in the "settings" and "about phone".
If so, you just have to force the update by installing the app on the Google Play Store under the name "Oxygen Updater".
- Install the app Oxygen Updater on Google Play Store
- Confirm that your smartphone is selected as soon as you open the app
- Download the latest version of Android 10
- Once downloaded go to "Settings" – "System" and "System Update"
- Click on "Local Update"
- Selects previously downloaded Android 10 version
- Hope everything is installed and done!
The best news from Android 10 on OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T
O changelog (everything that changes in the system) is big. However, what I was expecting most is a decent Dark Mode and still full gestures. Now swiping left or right will rewind. That is, you no longer have to click the bottom button to go back.
The camera of the smartphone also looks improved, however, something that I can only confirm after some time of use. You can already install Android 10 on your OnePlus so don't waste time, something tells me you'll like it.
