After Xiaomi it is Huawei's turn to follow the design of the Motorola Razr 2019. The Motorola Razr 2019 was officially unveiled and made the world talk about the new folding mobile phone. The equipment that "kills" even bigger screens when unfolding and instead gives us smaller equipment.
Well, soon after its revelation was seen a patent of Xiaomi that promises an identical device. A "normal" sized smartphone that folds smaller. Now it's Huawei's turn!
Huawei patent mimicking Motorola Razr 2019
In the patent we can see a smartphone of "normal" size but with small cutouts in the center. These cutouts are where the smartphone will fold to get smaller.
In the second patent image we can see the folded device and we can see that the purpose is basically the same. Give us equipment that gets smaller when not in use.
The difference from this Huawei patent image to the new Motorola Razr 2019 is the center of the device when closed. While at Motorola we have a device without any center opening even after the device is folded, this patent is not the case.
When will we have these smartphones in the market
It seems that 2020 will be an impressive year for folding mobile phones. This year we had the first devices to hit the market with a folding ideology, but production problems delayed their arrival.
Motorola came to show what many were asking for. A smartphone that could finally get smaller when folded. The shell format that dominated mobile phones from the early 2000s.
Hopefully the trend will go in these directions and hopefully technology will become cheaper. This is because Motorola is the cheapest folding smartphone of the moment and costs about 1500 €.
